<para> &app; egy családfakezelő program.
|
|
&app; név rövidítése a Genealogical Research and Analysis Management
|
|
Programming System szavaknak (Leszármazáskutató és Elemző Programrendszer).
|
|
Röviden, a program lehetővé teszi családi-öröklési adatok tárolását,
|
|
szerkesztését és elemzését. A &app; alapjában véve a többi családfaprogramhoz
|
|
közel áll, de jónéhány speciális lehetőséggel is szolgál. </para>
|
|
|

<title>Miért éppen a &app;et?</title>
|
|
<para> &app; hasonló célokkal jött létre mint a legtöbb családfakutató
|
|
program, amelyek a kutatónak lehetőséget biztosítanak egy adott család adatinak a
|
|
feldolgozására.
|
|
Ezen programok többsége az adatait képes GEDCOM
|
|
formátumában tárolni. Általában az utódok és az ősök kapcsolatait
|
|
diagramok, grafikonok, összesítők segítségével jelenítik meg.
|
|
Némelyiknek ezen képességeit képekkel vagy egyéb multimédiás anyagokkal bővíteni lehet.
|
|
A programok többségével különálló, egy családhoz sem tartozó egyéneket is
|
|
fel lehet venni az adatbázisba; különböző elemzések véget.
|
|
Ezenkívül különböző fájlformátumok importálásával és exportálásával is fel lehetnek
|
|
ruházva.</para>

|
|

<para> A &app; képes mindezen fentebb felsorolt funkciókra, de
|
|
ami még fontosabb, hogy lehetőség van a program eszközeinek a bővítésére.
|
|
Ez segítséget nyújt az adatok különféle bevitelére a &app;be; segít
|
|
átrendezni/átalakítani részben/teljesen az adatbázist (bármilyen sorrendben).
|
|
Röviden szólva, ez egy olyan eszköz ami lehetőséget biztosít a felkutatott
|
|
információk egy adott helyre gyűjtésére; mindenféle segítséget megad ezen adatok
|
|
elemzésére, összehasonlítására a számítógép teljesítményének a
|
|
felhasználásával, hatalmas papírmunkát elkerülve. </para>

<title>Jelenleg ismert korlátozó tényezők</title>
|
|
<para>Jelenleg a &app; minden adatot a memóriában tárol, ami jelentősen
|
|
lelassíthatja a rendszert nagy adatbázis használatakor (kb. 15000 ember egy átlagos
|
|
rendszeren). Az 1.2 verzióban ez javítva lesz egy adatbázismotor használatával.
|
|
Adatbázis kezelő rendszer jelentősen javítani fogja a program futási
|
|
sebességét és a memória gazdálkodást. </para>
|
|
|
|
<para>Közvetlen nyomtatás még nem működik. Ez is ki lesz javítva az
|
|
1.0 verzió kiadása után a gnome-print rendszer használatával.</para>
|
|
|
|
<para>PS és PDF összesítők nem jól készülnek el az unicode karakterekkel.

Ez a probléma is megoldódik a gnome-print rendszer használatával. Addig is
|
|
megoldást tud nyújtani, ha az összesítőket OpenOffice.org formátumba menti és
|
|
utána az OpenOffice.org programból készít PDF mentést.</para>
