No they wouldn't. A lead investigator will oversee the whole investigation and not get their hands that dirty. They rarely get involved with the exception of directing it, ordering actions, liasing with chief officers in other depts/organisations, press stuff etc.

I don't disagree he has liked posts, I disagree that a chief officer would not be sent in undercover. That's what UC officers are for and are like ordinary civilian investigators or low rank ordinary officers. A high rank would never get sent on a UC operation.

This is hard to corroborate as only one anon cracked the password, but it would make sense that they would purge any evidence from their site.

I think the problem is that the people who find the doors do not know how to pick the locks. They can only alert others that a door exists, in hopes of someone else being able to pick it. Maybe someone smarter than them is already trying to pick it, but how can you know. When you find a door you don't want it to go unnoticed.
