How exactly was http://i.4cdn.org/pol/1478850746266.png extracted from pizza.jpg? I'm a digital forensic examiner and we absolutely need to document our methods so this can all be reproduced. I remember the 4chan thread where the user mentioned "adjusting the contrast;" did anybody independently verify those findings or try to replicate his method?

As far as I can tell, this was made up. Either to deceive or
<em>
for the lulz
</em>
, we don't know. But you can try opening

pizza.jpg
</a>
in a hex editor yourself and the file
<a href="http://www.file-recovery.com/jpg-signature-format.htm">
starts with
<em>
FF D8 FF
</em>
and ends with FF D9, just like any regular JPG should

. The

4chan screenshot
</a>
shows extra data following FF D9 which is not the case. His terminology is correct but his facts are wrong.

If anyone has been able to somehow extract data from the image, by all means please do share. Everything I've seen has been false information so far.

That's my opinion as well unless someone can demonstrate otherwise. I already did exactly what you described with a hex editor and it's just not the same file as the 4chan screenshot.
