being perfectly honest, it's very hard to find a cohesive explanation from what I can see. You are on a specialist sub here, but I'm writing for people who want to know what the rumor is and why people believe it's credible.

I'm not offended, but it would be difficult to mark it anything other than unproven unless something very substantive happens (an arrest, really firm proof, witnesses). Right now it is circumstantial, albeit what appears to be a lot of detail.

A lot of words that we today think of as 'evil-ish' or 'dystopian' actually have a pretty descriptive origin.

For example: Propaganda. It was used regularly by most countries (including the Americans) for any kind of recruitment or morale boosting effort till the 40s the it acquired negative connotations because of obvious reasons.
