You can now log baselayout-2 again, through the RC_LOGGER conf.d/rc

The log is temp stored in /lib/rc/init.d/rc.log and appended to /var/log/rc.log if it's writeable. sysinit cannot be logged in Linux as we rely on sysinit to bring the system up to a point where we can log. single user cannot be logged on FreeBSD due to waitpid(0,0,0) incorrectly waiting for the log daemon in another process group.
