Was showing transparent background in a Compiz environment without
this option "visable_window" being explicitly set.

Doug Blank 2dae5c3a08 8377: Slow scrolling in Gramps 4.X, on all platforms. 
Additions:

1. cache database access for column values
2. cache do_get_path lookups
3. sped up load access on treeviews with no filters
4. use cache in do_get_path from siblings
5. new LRU size of 1k (was 250)
